God is like an office... [ 05.02.07, 3:39 p.m. ]

things aren't exactly slow around here but somhow i've found the time to write.

i feel very accomplished today. i've gotten alot of things done, including someone else's work. feels good. now if i could only concentrate on the ToDo's from the billing company...

those things are so tedious. for example, once upon a time, they send me a message that a visit code i put into the system had been deleted about 3 years ago. okay, that's fine, the encounter form we had was a nice old one. they asked me what to do...

are you kidding me? i sent it back and i told them to replace the code with the one that was correct.

they then sent it back to me and said they couldn't find the code and told me to look it up in my CPT book...

why the billing company doesn't have a CPT book i don't know. but i sent it back saying that my book didn't have any A codes in it. (not a lie)

they send it back to me saying they'll fax over a list of the A codes and i have to pick one.

i'm heated by this point because the problem could've been over by now if they just looked at the description of the previous code and match it with one on the updated list that "they didn't know" how to look up.

it takes me 3 days to get the time to look at this list, and 5 minutes to pick the correct one, with the help of the medical assistant and another minute to type it back into the system and send it back.

then it takes a day for them to change the code on the encounter and the visit and re-submit it.

what a waste of time.

======
sorry, got a little busy there for a moment. :)

i guess i just don't think we should be giving these people as much money as we do when they ask stupid questions they can fix themselves. i can see asking what they wanted us to do. that's fine. but once i let you know and give you the go-ahead...you should be able to get things done on your own.

that just gave me a thought.

aren't we like that with God?

we're the billing company and he's the office person that has to deal with every little doubt that we could either take on faith or figure out that he gave us enough information to begin with.

it's funny how things like that can spark something else inside. ain't it?

well, if this gets posted that'd be fun cause it's been sitting here for at least 30minutes without me typing.

we'll see i guess...
