back from DC.
Work starts again tomorrow. yahoo.

So. Michael Jackson is dead. Just thought I'd write that in here in case i look back on this thing and forget for some reason that he is dead.

i like'd his free willy song. THAT was good. he had some other good ones too.

but life must go on, even if someone else's has ended.

DC was a fun time. we saw alot. took some pictures. walked our butts off and now i'm back home. if i didn't lose any weight i'll be mad. that's why i haven't jumped on the scale. i don't think i will.

it was so nice to be back home with the hubby. i really missed him.

a dozen roses were waiting for me. i guess he really missed me too.

i keep backspacing. i can't type tonight.

guess things at church are as stupid as they have been. why can't people who are twice my age grow up. i just don't get it. the church has nothing to do with YOUR preferences. you're supposed to let God work THROUGH you for the glory of HIM. get it through your heads. you're not helping anyone by picking at the things that don't matter in the long run. you are not in control. i'm sure glad i'm not.

BUT. instead of cryptic messages to myself i think i'll go back to probing youtube.

i'd type more about what we did in DC except i really can't remember. i know. i'll get my camera....do be do...shuffle...dig dig...ah. got it.

switch memory cards.....shoobie do wa...turn it on...de ded de de. let me get past non-trip picures. by the way. these will most likely be on my facebook. so friend me if you want.

stiltz asleep in the car. she was supposed to drive 2hrs like the rest of us but felt too tired and just slept.

ah, plank. I found a block of wood in donk's car and borrowed a pen and we had plank. right now he's in the windshield, smiling at me from the dashboard.

ah, a picture with me and plank. both of us with our sunglasses. looks like planks didn't fit well.

and there's the HUGE monument in Arlington, VA of the army guys pushing the american flag up. i can't remember the name of most of these so i'm hoping that doesn't offend anyone. if it does, next time come write things down for me.

Plank and the grass. an artsy shot if i do say so myself.

Picture of the washington monument from arlington cemetery.

a huge lion in front of a bell that some country gave the US. why? i can't remember. i need a pad for these things.

stiltz is kissing the lion...donks is sitting on the lion's paws...stiltz is sitting ON the lion's back....

arlington cemetery is next. perfect lines of white gravestones. impressive. not only the number and perfection of the stones but the HUGE plot of land the cemetery is on. that was the first day and our legs were KILLING us.

sign for the arlinton national cemetery. some more artsy shots...

sign for the USofA War Office. that was nifty. made out of gold...mmm..

giant building with cool water out front. memoral for women in wars.

pics from the tomb of the unknowns. it's said that the first unknown from every war is burried here. changing of the guard is done here every half hour. we got to see it. impressive.

NEXT memory card...

an ampitheater behind the tomb of the unknowns.

the anchor from the USS Maine that was blown up in 1898? Must be.... I can't read it much. the remains of the 163 men that died when it exploded were burried under it. i think. good thing i took a picutre of the plaque.

they had the mast of the USS Maine there too.

a picture that we thought was fun. "Restrooms behind slave quarters" you'd have to know who we are to find out why that's so funny.

View of the lincoln monument from the reflecting pool.

some statues of men walking like in a platoon at night or something. it's before the wall with all the faces carved in it. now THAT was cool.

the squirrell who harassed you every time it heard a bag rustle. almost climbed up my leg...ate one of heather's pretzles.

view of the washington monument from the lincoln memorial.

pic of the lincoln memorial

pic of lincoln...

sign for the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. didn't get to see much. which was a bummer cause that's my thing. tickets were sold out.

pic of a quote etched into one of the walls there by Elie Wiesel "For the dead and the living we must bear witness"

some old blue car that i knew david would like

white house at night.

vietnam memorial with all the names carved into it. there was one hazard and like bizzilions of owenses. now you know a bit more about me. no nelle's.

a pic of julia child's kitchen sign at one of the smithsonians.

and there are my 12 roses...

I guess i really didn't take that many picures. i know i have a pic of the fireworks on my phone. that was cool...and nothing made me remember much when i just went throught them.

guess i'll just have to go back.

next is planning David and I's anniversary in August. Oh goodness.

5 years ago on the tenth of July. First date. :)
