Closer! [ 05.01.04, 12:43 p.m. ]

a big fat whopping:

AWESOME for the concert

cause it was just so...

DEVINE to hear him in the same place. breathing the same air.

the concert was breath taking. the songs sung and the faces made were just extremely great. there's like no word for it. it was just awesome. beyond awesome.

we were in the front balcony but the theater was just small enough so that we didn't have to squint to see where he was and what he was doing. it was great! and watching the whole performance through binoculars my mom brought made me feel extra close. like i was 5th row, front and center. i saw every face he made, every bend he made. once in a while i'd see his teeth shining. and i loved every minute of it!

so here's my thing on it. it is a spoiler so i've made it blue. for some reason the color of my BG is unknown so i can't make it disappear. but it's blue in case anyone doesn't want to read it yet.

The Closer tour is a huge success. i know this because of one concert. if i can deem it a success because of one experience. that should tell you something. you will never go to another concert like this. the emotion in which Josh sang each and every song was just heart stopping. he had you right there, in his little dramatic world. you could see with your mind all the things going on inside the song. all the emotions within the notes and the actions within the words. it was like a play with no actor. just one great young man with a voice. the program says it perfectly when they state that he "sings with shadings of empathy that feel immediate, unforced, and real."

starting off with Oceano, he blew everyone away. next was My Confession and he was just getting started. i was SO happy when i heard the first three notes beginning "My Morena" that i couldn't stop grinning through the whole song. that one was for me. (hehe - thanks baby!) to my delight he sang 3 of the extra songs from the Internet Only Edt. and then added one by simon and garfunkle (sp) for the last encore at the end. (there were 2 encores) funny how he can sing ANYTHING and make it sound perfect. without trying.

the young lady standing in place for Joshua Bell on Mi Mancherai was Lucia Micarelli. man o man could she play. she had me in a trance almost as much as Josh did. notice i said almost. but she was awesome! girl broke into Queen! she's been playing the violin since she was three. THREE! and she gets to play with Josh. how great is that!

the only thing i was kind of sad about was that he didn't sing Si Volvieras A Mi. i love that one cause he harmonizes with himself but Never Let Go as an encore tore that right out of me! Oh i just loved the whole concert! he sang Caruso so perfect. they had the translation on the screen which i was so excited for! the song is a story and that's why he has to sing it so fast, but the story is beautiful. and i'm glad the people who didn't know that now do.

he played the piano 2ce...i think it was 2ce and that was great! i'm excited thinking about it! singing and piano playing. FALLING.

yea, he did the whole fall routine! which was grand! then the lights came on and it was time for intermission.

the thing i loved more than anything was that it just came out! the voice just flowed out of that cute lower lipped mouth and swept all the way to my balcony seat. and stayed there. like he was singing beside me. it was so perfect! like the program states "numbers not structured like songs but flowing endlessly, like a river far from it's source and near to the sea." oh, that's perfect!

i really don't wanna listen to the cd cause i don't wanna like, somehow mess up the memory. mmm. memory. and such a grand memory it is. i was smiling like a geek the whole concert. happily zoning out to my JG world while staring at him seemed to be my priority.

there were nuns in the front row. he was so funny. "Oh! Hello sisters! Are you enjoying the concert!?" there was a part where he was trying to introduce Alejate and was saying it was spanish when some peeps kept screaming that they loved him. he turns to them and goes "I love you too! No, I do! Who was that? Stand up!" i suppose she stood up and he goes "You, i love you." haha. i was great. then some guy brought him flowers (lol) and Josh gave him a kiss! after he says something like "Focus! All this love over here and kissing..." and just stands there for like 2 minutes then goes "Spanish!" and continues introducing the song. he's such a down to earth guy. he messed with the audience all night. it was great. some people wanted him to come to their side of the stage so he did. then he ran to the other side and said hi to them too. his hair flopping everywhere. so cute! he was too funny. there was some point in the show where he was talking about the theatre adn how he liked it cause it was intimate and he says to a person in the front row "yea, next time i'll be spitting on you!" it was GREAT!

the whole concert was just breath taking. i know i keep saying that but i really don't know how else to describe it! Josh Groban is such a talented individual and i love him alot. a ton now. more than jess. (hehe)

i wish he could have sang every song he's ever sung. i would have stayed stuck to my seat till all hours of the morning for him. mmm Josh. there will probably be more to come seeing as i have a whole day to remember EVERYTHING. i'll put them in this entry as another "entry" or something. yea. YES! i love it all! I NEED TO GO BACK! NOOOOW! i'm having JG withdrawls!- Weller
